Lawrence! I told you not to climb on the gothic pillar!

Once upon a time there was a man named Antonio Gaudí. He woke up one day and said to himself, "Self what am I going to do today?" After a short, but necessary pause, he responded to himself, "I think I'll build a city." 

And build a city he did. 

He used nature as his muse to build. He designed houses, streets, parks, and even a cathedral! His cathedral would one day become, even more-so than a prime kodak shot, a world-known depiction of the life of Christ. 

Gaudí painted the town with color, curves, texture, and such workmanship that could boggle the mind. He was truly a man before his time. 

Barcelona has been among my favorite trips thus far. I know that's not the first time I've said that, but seriously!!! This place is unreal. I have to apologize soooo sincerely. Our 2nd full day in Barcelona was the day I decided to forget my camera in my room :( I know. Saddest day ever. But, sushi happens. Sometimes we just gotta take the bumps. Also, sometimes I forget how to spell things in english. Thank heavens for autocorrect. 

Anyway, when I go back to Barcelona with my parents, I will be sure to get all the photos I couldn't this weekend. Are you ready?

La Sagrada Familia!

This was unbelievable.

I cannot wait to come back here!

Let's talk about the cranes.

When Gaudí started getting close to his death, he knew he wasn't going to get to see La Sagrada Familia finished. He spent his the rest of his time making plans and layouts and designs for the rest of it. Today it is still being worked on and is predicted to be done in 2026 which is the Centennial of Gaudí's death.
